Stone Colour Swatches

These swatch colours and textures depicted below are as close as screen display will allow. Note that some stone examples or types are fairly uniform in colour, and others are slightly or quite variable. Those that are fairly consistant in colour and shade are marked with a 'U' in the notations and description title. Those that are not, expect a reasonable variation in shades and colour tone within a finished project. Those stones with coloured veining are depicted with a 'V'. Those marked with an 'S' are more of a shaded colour than distinct veining streaks.

Rockface finishes are generally applicable only to some sandstones and not availble in a number of other stone types. Natural split finishes are also limited to some stone types and not available throughout all stone options.

Legend - Surface Finishes

NATURAL The natural split surface of the stone as it comes out of the quarry.

ROCKFACE Natural split stone in which the edges are hand bolstered/chiselled.

HONED Surface is machined with diamond pads to remove any saw marks.

UNFILLED Some stone types have natural holes which can be then filled or left unfilled.

SHOT BLASTED The stone is shotblasted creating a defined even textured surface like bush hammer.

BRUSHED The stone is machined with a diamond brush creating a used or antique surface.

TUMBLED The stone is agitated together in a hopper which rounds and softens the edges.
